Martens were engaged to prepare designs for road, fire trail and stormwater to cater for a large lot rural sub-division in the suburb of Duffys Forest, located approximately 30km north of Sydney.
The sub-division was located immediately upslope of the Ku-Ring-Gai National Park, amongst areas of ecologically endangered communities. Stormwater treatment devices, such as bio-filtration swales along roads and leaky wall basins within fire trails, were incorporated to improve stormwater runoff quality.
