Martens and Associates were engaged to supervise and document the removal of underground storage tanks (USTs) and the remediation of a former service station site at Mosman, NSW. Remedial works were required to support a future residential development on the site, which included a 3 storey basement carpark.
Remediation involved locating UST via ground penetrating radar (GPR); removal of remaining liquid waste inside UST; removal of USTs and fuel lines; excavation and off-site removal to licensed landfill of residual hydrocarbon impacted soils and weathered rock.
