Martens were engaged to provide engineering design services for a 35 lot sub-division located at Suffolk Park, NSW (“Seacliffs Estate”).

Martens were engaged to provide engineering design services for a 35 lot sub-division located at Suffolk Park, NSW (“Seacliffs Estate”). The project used hydraulic data, modelling and site survey to design minimum water servicing requirements for the new dwellings and a community facility.

Suffolk Park is an urban area local to Byron Bay and has experienced rapid recent growth and urban residential development. The development of Seacliffs Estate, in an area containing much remnant forest was designed to be both ecologically sustainable and functional for new residents.

Project scope for both Development Application and Construction Certificate stages of the development included:

• Road design of internal road and turning circle for Hayters Drive (Council road).
• Design of lot driveways.
• Flood mapping and impact assessment.
• Site stormwater management design including all drainage, OSD and water quality structures.
• Site creek rehabilitation works design.
• Site reticulated sewerage services design.
• Site reticulated water services design including fire-fighting supply.
• Site retaining structures.
• Design of new footpath for Council road.
• Provision of construction sediment and erosion control plans.
• Provision of construction traffic management plans.

Specific scope for water supply servicing included:

• Hydraulic (pressure and flow) design – including structural support design – of reticulated water mains, system booster pumps, manual and automated valves, control infrastructure and fire-fighting hydrants.
• Consultation with Council to ensure system integration into wider Council supply network.
• Provision of network plans and engineering specification to allow for construction of system.
