Martens were engaged to design the internal stormwater drainage, On-Site Detention (OSD) system and road drainage infrastructure for the supermarket redevelopment of Galston Village.

Martens were engaged to design the internal stormwater drainage, On-Site Detention (OSD) system and road drainage infrastructure for the supermarket redevelopment of Galston Village in Sydney’s north-western suburbs. Hydrological, meteorological and survey data were used to construct a detailed hydraulic model for the site and adjacent road drainage structure.

Project scope included:

  • Determination of catchments to site and road drainage networks respectively.
  • Development of detailed hydrological and hydraulic model to determine required drainage infrastructure – pits, pipes and detention structures – to safely convey peak 1 in 100 year stormwater flows within the site, detain peak flows within the site and discharge flows to the existing Council drainage network whilst minimising impacts.
  • Development of detailed hydrological and hydraulic model to determine minimum requirements for new road pit and pipe drainage infrastructure to adequately convey stormwater flows along Galston and Arcadia Roads.

Preparation of detailed plans for tender and construction of road and site drainage networks.
