Martens were engaged to provide geotechnical investigation for a proposed residence at 18 Asquith St., Austinmer, NSW.

Martens were engaged to provide geotechnical investigations for a proposed residence at 18 Asquith St, Austinmer, NSW. The site was previously classified to have a medium to high risk of slope instability, considering evidence of slope instability, irregular topography and poor drainage noted at the rear of the site.

Our investigation scope included:

  • Drilling of boreholes using a 4WD-mounted drill rig
  • Field testing, including Dynamic cone penetrometer testing in the soil profile
  • Geotechnical risk assessment for the proposed development
  • Slope stability analysis undertaken using SLIDE modelling software
  • Provision of a report presenting assessment results and advice and recommendations for design and construction works, including monitoring programs
