Martens were engaged to prepare detailed civil works plan for a proposed residential development application in Schofields, in Sydney’s Greater Western region. Engineering services provided included:

• Earthworks design
• Road and intersection design
• Flood modelling
• Stormwater management and treatment system design
• Sediment and erosion control system design
• Environmental site assessment
• Salinity assessment
• Geotechnical assessment

The proposed development application was for a medium density residential subdivision. The site was previously rural residential and required the planning and design of new infrastructure to support the development. The scope of the earthworks design included:

• Design of a new internal road
• Redesign of three existing roads including associated intersections
• Site regrading and design of retaining walls
• Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling to determine existing flood conditions and iterative earthworks design to mitigate developed site flood impacts
