Martens were engaged to prepare a groundwater assessment and a concept groundwater management plan, to inform and assist the rezoning of land at Tea Gardens, NSW, for a 900 lot residential subdivision.
A range of information/data, including geological maps, borehole logs, hydraulic testing results, monitored groundwater levels and previous investigation reports were utilised, to develop a conceptual and subsequent numerical groundwater MODFLOW model to determine groundwater levels, flow directions and water budgets.
Land of the subdivision was characterised by low elevations, shallow groundwater tables and moderately permeable quartz coastal sands.
