Martens were engaged to design the roof, access and car park drainage, On-Site Detention (OSD) system and sediment and erosion protection works for an industrial development located at Mt. Kuring-gai in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

Martens were engaged to design the roof, access and car park drainage, On-Site Detention (OSD) system and sediment and erosion protection works for an industrial development located at Mt Kuring-Gai in Sydney’s northern suburbs. Analyses and design used meteorological, hydraulic and survey data to determine site drainage design requirements.

The site is located within the existing industrial area at Mt. Kuring-gai. Site is upslope of the Berowra Valley Regional Park, with the protection of the downslope receiving environment being critical in the design of the site stormwater management system.

Project scope included:

• Design of roof drainage system for the new warehouse building including spacing and sizing of roof downpipes.
• Design of surface water drainage system under site access and car park.
• Design (hydraulic and structural) of site OSD tank and integration with site drainage network and outlet erosion protection works.
• Design of stormwater outlet protection works.

Analyses and design of site access drainage with respect to localised flooding.
